![]() I click through to the media file and it plays it OK. But when I try to play a media file, I get a message that says it can't determine what version of Media Player I have. ![]() ![]() I did all the right things to have Firefox recognize the Media Player plugin, which it does. I don't think I can get back without doing a full back to factory restore, which is not in my plan.Īnyway, all this is because I run Firefox and wanted it to play media files. I then did a System Restore to right before installing "Media Player 10" and when it was done. But it didn't go back to 9, it went to 10. So I then followed the Microsoft instructions for uninstalling Medial Player 11. Well, then the Roxio software started crashing (on exit only, fortunately), and a bunch of googling found that it was incompatible with Media Player 11. not what I asked for, but I figured it'd be OK. Part way through, the progress said it was updating to version 11. I went to Microsoft's site and selected to update to Media Player 10. So on my new XPS 410 running Windows XP Media Center, I wanted to upgrade to Media Player 10 (as I recall it was 9 on the PC originally).
